Does Niche Popularity Tie Into Website Flipping?
Of late, there have been many website flippers who have started to find that website flipping within a certain popular niche could be very advantageous. This runs contrary to the approach that many have followed in the past, and the question that is most often asked is whether or not niche popularity really matters, or if it is really something else entirely that is helping website flipping activities within popular niches.
Although many people may be of the opinion that websites in popular niches are bound to attract a lot of attention, that isn't necessarily the case. At the end of the day, the truth is that the main factors that potential buyers scrutinize when purchasing a website is its current profit, and potential for future profit.
Of course, niche popularity will definitely play a role in the profits of a website. For example, if your website happens to be in a popular niche then you have a greater potential to attract more customers than if you're dealing with a very unpopular niche. Unfortunately, that is only a half truth especially considering the fact that almost all popular niches tend to have tons of competition and so you may find that you're only able to tap into 0.1% of the market of a popular niche whereas you might be able to control 99% of the market of an unpopular niche.
In short, niche popularity does count in this situation - but it is not the only factor at work.
Frankly speaking, the reason why niche popularity is sometimes good for website flipping is when the website in question is used for something other than simply profit. Nowadays, with the rise of competition amongst website flippers, some have been forced to attempt to sell their websites based on different angles - and one of those would be niche-related websites. Although these websites may not exactly command a lot of traffic, or even really produce a lot of profit, they can be used to provide backlinks to articles, and other pieces of web content within a certain other website.
While this practice may be viewed as questionable by some, it isn't illegal - and it is part of the reason why many established marketers operate networks of blogs and other websites.
All things said and done, niche popularity definitely does tie into website flipping - but it only does so directly if you're pursuing a sale from an angle other than profits or traffic. If you're interested in doing so, then you should definitely try your hand at it and see what you're able to produce.
